Sierra Nevada - Aerial Views
The Ski Octopus was in Sierra Nevada California in the first week of May, and took some aerial pictures of the mountains.
The Sierra Nevada mountains are still covered in snow and the passes to Yosemite National Park are closed.
The aerial pictures below are taken in the area east of Yosemite National Park (If you need a reference point on the map look for North Peak, Mount Conness or White Mountain).
Scroll down for more pictures from the area (Mono Lake, Twin Lakes and the mountains around them). You can also see the entire album HERE.
I was also able to take a few good pictures of the Twin Lakes. On the right side of the lakes you can spot Eagle Peak, while on the left you can see Twin Peak.
I also flew over Mono Lake. You can see below Mono Lake (hard to miss it due to its distinctive shape) with the Sierra Nevada mountains behind it. You can also spot Mount Dana (behind the lake - to the left).
